Pineau
des Charentes (a blend of 1/3 Cognac and 2/3 grape juice) is a
product which originated due to a mistake made during the grape harvest. An
employee of a Cognac producer unwittingly poured grape juice into a barrel
which was already a third full of Cognac. To his surprise a few weeks later,
instead of finding fermented grape juice (wine), he stumbled on a "mistake"
that in fact tasted rather good. And voila! - Pineau des Charentes was born.

Pineau
Blanc : A result of blends of several Pineau's ranging from 3 to 5
years old. It is made from "Ugni Blac" grapes which are also used to make
Cognac.
Pineau Rosé : Also a blend of 3 to 5 years, this
time made from Merlot grapes. It's sweet and fruity (smells of red fruits).
Vieux Blanc : A result of blends of several
Pineau's from 6 to 10 years old. A soft Pineau, easy and pleasant to drink.
